Elevate London – Session 5: Growth, Self-Discovery, and Vision-Setting

StartYoungUK

Session 5 of the Elevate Programme in London was a day of reflection, goal-setting, and personal development. With a strong focus on identifying strengths, exploring transferable skills, and creating vision boards, participants took a deep dive into their aspirations and the steps needed to achieve them.

Defining Goals and Unlocking Potential

A key part of the session was introducing SMART objectives—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—to help participants build clear and actionable roadmaps for their future. Through interactive activities and discussions, they explored their unique strengths, interests, and career aspirations, bringing their reflections to life through creative vision boards.

It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness that went into these exercises. The vision boards were more than just goals on paper; they represented the ambitions, dreams, and determination of each participant as they mapped out their future paths.

We were fortunate to have industry professionals join us, sharing their career experiences and valuable insights:

Derek-James Leighton, along with Liam Swaby and Oliver Hall from Lloyds Banking Group, led a powerful discussion on leveraging transferable skills, embracing opportunities, and the impact of apprenticeships. Their experiences demonstrated how the right mindset and determination can unlock countless doors.
