As we reach the final session of our Elevate Manchester cohort, there's a powerful sense of accomplishment and reflection in the air. Session 8 brings us full circle with a focus on Career Skills, an essential part of preparing our young people for the professional world.
Led by the passionate and inspiring Nichola N'di-Orduh, the session is bursting with energy, laughter, and valuable learning. Through engaging activities and our much-loved Quiz Mania, participants explore the art of interviews in a way that is both insightful and empowering.
Throughout the day, students are reminded that there are no right or wrong answers—only growth and learning. Everyone’s voice matters, and our uniqueness is our strength. Core values like integrity, self-worth, and respect are emphasised as the foundation for every future journey.
We are honoured to welcome Greater Manchester Police, who spend meaningful time with our young people and offer thought-provoking insights into the world of public service and community leadership. Special thanks to Callum Taylor for coordinating the visit.
The session also features a moving and relatable talk from guest speaker Shade Obiti, who shares her career journey with honesty, strength, and clarity. Internally, Pavan Tekur lights up the room with a personal story rooted in resilience, self-discovery, and determination.
Our amazing mentors—Chris Beighton, Alun Jervis, Mamoor Dewan, Marilyn Matthews, Nicole Owen, Emma Nelson, Deborah B., Vince Rose, and Matthew Anderson.
As we close this chapter, we reflect on what a meaningful and transformative six-month journey it has been. The Elevate programme isn’t just about professional development—it’s about growing confidence, building networks, and empowering young people to step boldly into their future.
We look forward to celebrating everything they’ve achieved at Graduation.
