This week marked the second session of our Elevate programme in London, where our enthusiastic cohort continued their journey toward career readiness. The day was filled with engaging activities, valuable insights, and powerful discussions, each designed to inspire and equip participants with the tools they need to succeed.
Matt Weston led an engaging session on interview skills, sharing practical advice to help students approach interviews with confidence. From crafting compelling answers to leaving a lasting impression, this workshop provided essential tools for future success.
In a unique icebreaker activity, participants interviewed one another for the role of Prime Minister. This exercise sparked insightful discussions about leadership qualities, boosted confidence, and encouraged everyone to think about how they can contribute to positive change in the world.
Alexis Miller from Barclays shared her inspiring career journey, offering the students a glimpse into her professional experiences and the lessons she’s learned along the way. Her story encouraged participants to explore their own potential and to think ambitiously about their futures.
Joel Dawes delivered a powerful talk on the critical issue of child exploitation. By addressing the risks and providing strategies for staying informed, Joel’s session brought an important and often overlooked topic into focus, empowering participants to make safe and informed decisions.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our incredible mentors - Ehigie, Lisa Hayes, Georgia, and Peta James - who guided and supported the participants throughout the session. Their commitment continues to be a cornerstone of Elevate’s success.
As Elevate London progresses, we are inspired by the enthusiasm, determination, and growth shown by our participants. This programme is not just about career readiness - it’s about empowering young people to take charge of their futures with confidence and purpose.
We’re excited to see what’s next for this talented cohort as they continue their journey. Stay tuned for more updates as we help shape brighter futures, one session at a time.
